This unit develops the knowledge and skills which hospital management expect of anyone whose role requires them to access hospital areas. This module is for individuals who are required to be in hospital areas – not critical care areas, for which the Level 5 Professional Theatre Access Qualification is required. It is recognised by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Professional Theatre Access Qualification

The Hospital is a complex environment. All persons within this environment are exposed to the risk of infection and they can also pose a potential infection risk in the Hospital. This is why it is imperative that the medical representative visiting clinical departments know and understand where they can go and why. Know the dress code, be able to identify doors for access and exit and understand why baggage should be stored before entering these areas.
