Healthcare Skills Training International new guide is for healthcare company representatives who access hospitals and patient-facing areas to provide verbal technical assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It ensures that these professionals will maintain best practice while supporting the use of medical devices and product maintenance

Clinical practice and the complexity of the use and maintenance of some medical device products require technical support from healthcare company representatives to clinical professionals.

To date, there is no governance of the legislation, guidelines or recommendations that establish the minimum conditions that must be met so that company representatives that access patient-facing areas can continue to participate in clinical areas with evidence of adequate health and safety, standard precautions and infection control.

We do know there are National Occupational Standards to adhere to.

This guide aims to make available to the healthcare industry recommendations that will better protect hospital staff, patients and healthcare company representatives.
