New Medical Director from January ’23: Dr Jacqueline Haughton MD

Future Medical Director Role for Jan 2023: Healthcare Skills Training International is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Jacqueline Haughton MD to the position of Medical Director.

She will take up her appointment in January 2023. Jacki worked for the NHS for 38 years in the role of Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon before retiring from clinical practice in 2014, and has been delivering training and writing course material for Healthcare Skills Training International for more than 20 years. Passionate about the delivery of high quality healthcare and the training needed to achieve it, Jacki created courses in remote consultation and education videos on COVID infection for healthcare teams around the world early in the pandemic, to offset the ban on face-to-face care. To fulfil local needs, she became a full-time COVID vaccinator, traveling across her region delivering protection once vaccines became available. She is a graduate of Birmingham University, and completed her surgical training in the West of Scotland and as RSO at St Mark’s Hospital London. Jacki says ‘I am looking forward to making a difference in planning and delivery of healthcare training as we adapt to the post-pandemic landscape. We urgently need to return healthcare availability to safe levels while maintaining quality.
