Online courses are exactly what they say: online only. You can take these online courses at your own pace, without ever being in a virtual or face-to-face classroom. We offer online reaccreditation for Award in Access to Hospitals (SCQF level6) for those who need to access hospitals, but not critical care areas. We also offer online modules for those who wish to re-accredit their Award for Access to Operating Theatres (SCQF level8), or who want only to sit the exam for Award for Access to Operating Theatres (SCQF level8). If you are an Industry professional working in hospitals and are unsure which of our ‘Access’ courses to take, this advice is for you: if you need to acquire the knowledge to enter any critical care areas such as Operating Theatres, ITU/ICU, Interventional Radiology suites, Recovery Areas inside a hospital, then you need either the Award in Access to Operating Theatres (SCQF Level 8), which is our 360 Theatre Access course or our 360 Hospital Access Course (Award in Principles of Risk Management in Patient Facing Areas, EduQual level 5), depending upon whether or not the critical care areas you will be accessing include an operating theatre. Re-accreditation for the Award in Access to Hospitals (SCQF Level 6) revalidates the knowledge and skills which hospital management expect of anyone whose role requires them to access general hospital areas.
This online offering is for individuals who already are credentialled to work in hospital areas, need to re-accredit, but don’t need access to critical care areas such as Operating Theatres, ITU/ICU, Interventional Radiology Suites. The Award in Access to Operating Theatres (SCQF Level 8, an SQA-Accreditation, accredited qualification, Group Award No R55604, full details here: here) qualification develops the knowledge and skills which hospital management expect of medical device industry personnel entering, assisting and providing verbal/ technical input within Critical Care areas including operating theatres.
